Grizzlies Men defeat Mamelodi after a late game three-run homerun, 5-2

Grizzlies and Mamelodi Pitbulls traded the lead five times on Saturday, but Grizzlies ended up on top with a 5-2 win in seven innings over Mamelodi Pitbulls.

The top of the first saw Mamelodi Pitbulls take an early lead, 1-0. But it didn't take long for Grizzlies to answer as they scored two runs of their own in the first. Grizzlies scored on a solo home run by Ryan and an RBI triple by Darius Voges.

Ryan Van Vuuren got on base three times in the game for Grizzlies. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the first inning.

Darius Voges also had a great game on the pitching mount, only allowing 2 runs in 7 frames. He also struck out 14 batters without any walks.

Grizzlies took the lead in the sixth inning and held on for the victory. Grizzlies scored on a three-run home run by Herman Landman off T Senona, bringing home Steve Spalletta and Darius Voges.

Grizzlies jump on Red Scorpions early and coasts to an 18-0 win

Grizzlies jumped out to an early lead on Red Scorpions and captured an 18-0 victory on Saturday at Sonitus.

Eighteen runs in the first three innings allowed Grizzlies to put the game away early.

An RBI double by Barend Engelbrecht, and an RBI triple by Steve Spalletta in the first inning, and an RBI double by Herman Landman, a three-run home run by Engelbrecht, a two-run double by Charl Promnitz, and a two-run single by Gordon Spalletta during the second inning supplied the early offense for Grizzlies.

Grizzlies easily handled Red Scorpions pitching as six hitters combined for 11 hits, 15 RBI’s and 12 runs scored.

Engelbrecht racked up four RBI’s on three hits for Grizzlies.

Johnny Karusseit kept Red Scorpions off the scoreboard for all three innings he was in the circle. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on two hits while striking out four.
